What is Neptune?

Do you know about planet named Neptune?
It's a planet for your better future. See new amazing experience on Neptune!

Neptune its the 8th planet from the sun in the Solar System. Neptune's atmosphere is primarily composed of hydrogen and helium along with traces of methane. The methane in the atmosphere, in part, accounts for the planet's blue appearance. Neptune also has the strongest winds of any planet in the solar system, measured as high as 2,100 kilometers per hour (1,300 mph).

Neptune and Uranus
are often considered a sub-class of gas giant termed "ice giants", due to their smaller size and higher concentrations of volatiles. But dont worry, you'll be save in this planet! You will be save here because Neptune had a very thick atmosphere! That's why Neptune is one of Jovian Planets (Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter is also included as a Jovian planet)

Neptune and It 'Twin', Uranus

The Twins: They're same!
Uranus and Neptune usually called 'twin' by many people. Not just because they were in a very close distance and have almost same colors and characteristic, they also both called 'ice giants' because they're very cold planet. But different than Pluto, this two planets not just cold - they were big too, that's why those planets called ice giants. They were also two of four Jovian planet which are characterized by large sizes and masses but low mean densities (compared with Earth). As with Uranus, Neptune's distance from the Sun and its relatively small size compared to Jupiter and Saturn ensure that the planet is below the freezing point of its main constituents.

This is Uranus

The Twins: Which one better?
If they both are compared, I will choose Neptune, because besides I was selling and advertising this planet for sale (haha ^^), this planet had better (blue) color than the pale Uranus. Uranus is slightly larger than Neptune, but Neptune is considerably more massive and denser than Uranus. Uranus had 27 (or more!) satellite, but too much isn't good also, right?

Neptune had 13 satellites but one of them, Triton (one of Neptune's satellites) was bigger than any satellites around Uranus! Triton is the coldest object that has been measured in the solar system. Neptune's second known satellite, the irregular moon Nereid, has one of the most eccentric orbits of any satellite in the solar system. Neptune is the first planet that known by mathematical prediction rather than regular observation.Unexpected changes in the orbit of Uranus led astronomers to deduce the gravitational perturbation of an unknown planet. Neptune was found within a degree of the predicted position.

Neptune Goddess

Neptune and Poseidon's Symbol

Poseidon (Neptune)

On a Greek's mythology, Poseidon is the goddess of the sea or the ruler of the sea. He is the brother of Hades (god of underworld) and Zeus (god of sky). He is also the god of horses and the god of earthquakes. The symbol of Poseidon was his three-pronged fish spear, because he always hold the fish spear in his hand. He lived on the ocean floor in a palace made of coral and gems, and drove a chariot that pulled by horses.

When he's on a good mood, Poseidon will created new lands in the water and a calm sea. In contrast, when he was on a bad mood, Poseidon would strike the ground with a trident and cause unruly springs and earthquakes, shipwrecks, and drownings. Poseidon was similar to his brother, Zeus in exerting his power on women and in objectifying masculinity. He had many love affairs and fathered numerous children.

He has some famous child, also names of some astrologies, and things in the sky. Some of his children are:
  • Euryale (Orion)
  • Medusa(Pegasus, Chrysaor)
  • Amphitrite (Rhode, Triton)

Neptune's Satellite

Satellite

Neptune is one of the planet that having it's natural satellite. People said that Neptune had 13 satellites, but others say Neptune had 8 or 11 satellite. Neptune's biggest satellite is Triton, which is the name of Poseidon's (already discuss it before) child. You all can see the amazing big Triton and other satellite in this Neptune!

This is one of Neptune's satellite, Triton. This satellite is also the biggest satellite arround Neptune. Triton has the same size as Pluto.
